School Introduction

Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province, is an important central city in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and one of the first batch of national historical and cultural cities. It is known as the "Hometown of Qu and Jia," "Famous City of Chu and Han," and "Xiao Xiang Zhu Si." Changsha is home to historical relics such as the Mawangdui Han Tombs, the Four Rams Square Zun, the Three Kingdoms Wu Bamboo Slips, Yuelu Academy, and the Tongguan Kiln. Hunan Industry Polytechnic (HNIP) is located in Changsha, Hunan Province. It is a public higher vocational college sponsored by the provincial government and administered by the provincial Department of Education. The college covers an area of 1159.3 acres and has a construction area of over 390,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and research equipment is more than 208 million yuan, and the library holds more than 1.64 million books. The college is equipped with a modern electronic library system, a gigabit campus network, and a computer network service system. It is a construction unit of the Chinese characteristic high-level professional group (Class A), a national high-quality special higher vocational college, a national demonstrative higher vocational college, a first batch of demonstrative higher vocational colleges in Hunan Province, and a first batch of excellent colleges in Hunan Province.

Hunan Industry Polytechnic comprises 13 teaching institutions, including the School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Automotive Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering, School of Information Engineering, School of Economics and Management, School of Business and Trade, School of Industrial Design and Art, and the International Education School. It offers 39 full-time higher vocational specialty programs (38 of which are open to international students). Adhering to the motto "Integrity, Dedication, Technical Excellence, and Innovation," HNIP is firmly positioned to "root itself in the machinery and equipment manufacturing industry and serve Hunan's new industrialization." In actively adapting to the development of the industry, HNIP has enhanced its educational strength and formed a sustainable development trend.

Hunan Industry Polytechnic focuses on integrating specialized education with innovation and entrepreneurship to improve the quality of talent cultivation. There are currently more than 12,000 full-time students enrolled. From 2017 to 2018, HNIP ranked in the top ten nationwide for the number of first prizes won in the National Vocational College Skills Competition for two consecutive years. From 2018 to 2024, HNIP won 10 first prizes and 20 second prizes in the National Vocational College Skills Competition. From 2018 to 2024, HNIP won 108 first prizes and 176 second prizes in the Hunan Provincial Vocational College Skills Competition. In the past two years, students from HNIP have won 10 national awards and 56 provincial awards in various college student innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, including 2 gold medals in the national finals of the China International College Student Innovation Competition, 2 gold medals in the national finals of the "Challenge Cup," ,1 gold medal in the National College Student Career Planning Competition and first Prize in 2 categories at the Belt and Road Initiative and BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition.

Adhering to an internationalization development strategy in education, establishing friendly cooperative relationships with over 20 universities across the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Australia, Thailand, Singapore, and other countries. Key initiatives include joint programs with Wellington Institute of Technology (New Zealand) and Northern College (Canada);Student research exchange projects with California State Polytechnic University (USA), University of Hong Kong, and University of Macau;Co-establishing the Sino-German Vocational Education and Training Center with the German Federal Association of Crafts (Zentralverband des Deutschen Handwerks, ZDH);Jointly developing curriculum resources with Reutlingen University (Germany) to enhance technical education integration; Focusing on recruiting and nurturing international students from Belt and Road countries, building the "Chuyi" study-abroad brand to elevate global influence. These efforts have significantly strengthened the international development capabilities and resource aggregation capacity, aligning with national strategies for global education competitiveness.
